Rooftop Sippers

Chillaxing on a rooftop is something that we all love and I’ve officially dusted off my lawn chair and left it out on the roof. While it's still "technically" rosé season, I like to mix it up and drink some light white wines. So, if you’re just having a glass of wine with Buddha (like me) or hanging on the roof with some friends, here are 3 wines that you should add to your list of rooftop sippers.

1) Pierre-Henri Saint-Fiacre Muscadet 2013 – This Muscadet (not to be confused with Muscat or Muscato, a sweet desert wine) is an awesome dry white wine from the Loire valley in central France. This wine has notes of pears, apples and melons and is super light with fresh acidity. Made from 44-year-old Melon de Bourgogne vines, it is easily one of my top picks of the summer. Oh and this wine pairs perfectly with fresh seafood or any '90s summer hits playlist! Go out and get this now!

2) Nortico 2013 Alvahrino - Alvarinho is a white grape variety grown in Portugal and also in Spain (where it’s called albariño). It's one of the grapes used in Vinho Verde wine and often has aromas similar to Gewurztraminer. This Nortico 2013 Alvarinho is produced in the Minho region in Portugal, and is super bright and refreshing. It has aromas of apricot and peaches and tastes like lightly frozen peaches and grapefruit. This right here is the JAM! Make sure you have some this summer.

3) Santorini Nykerti 2013 – Whenever I drink this wine, I imagine myself sitting on a white sand beach in Santorini. Made primarily from the assyrtiko grape, this wine is medium bodied with a ton of structure. On the nose you smell jasmine and citrus fruits and on the palate you get really awesome minerality with a nice dry finish. This is a perfect wine to pair with white fish.

Happy rooftop sipping!
